Peter Singer’s 2022 Australia/New Zealand Tour

Moral philosopher Peter Singer is set to tour Australia and New Zealand to discuss his widely influential and revolutionary work.

Our founder, the world-renowned Australian moral philosopher Peter Singer, will be live on stage in March & April 2022 in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and New Zealand.

Peter will be discussing his unique journey as the most prominent public philosopher in Australian history.

Peter has shaped his career around the idea of reducing suffering and maximizing happiness for humans and animals. That idea underlies his work and served as the basis for his 2009 book The Life You Can Save, which was praised by Bill Gates and Melinda French Gates and spurred on the global Effective Altruism movement. Following the success of the book, Peter founded a not-for-profit organization of the same name.

Peter is perhaps best known for his revolutionary work, Animal Liberation, widely regarded as the philosophical foundation of the animal rights movement. The book, never out of print since its first publication in 1975,  inspired millions to become vegetarian and vegan, and is one of several instances of Peter having shaped modern ideas and attitudes. He was an early campaigner, in the 1960s, for legal abortion, and has also been a proponent of voluntary assisted dying, recently legalized in Victoria, Australia.

The tour is organized by Think Inc., which will donate net proceeds from ticket sales to The Life You Can Save Australia.

Each attendee will also receive a free copy of the new 10th Anniversary Edition – The Life You Can Save.
