Peter Singer — philosopher, author of Animal Liberation, and our Co-Founder and Chairman here at The Life You Can Save — recently sat down with Forbes Australia for their The Last Word series, a quick-fire Q&A that gets past the philosophy and into the personal: favorite meals, guiding heroes, and the small daily habits behind a life spent arguing for doing more good. His life motto, as he puts it simply: “Do the most good you can.”
True to form, Peter’s answers circle back to that same throughline again and again: from his best advice (find a purpose larger than yourself) to his hero (would you save a drowning child) to the legacy he hopes to leave.
He’s candid too, naming his greatest flaw as sometimes being “too focused to notice other things I should notice,” and naming what he wishes he could change about the world: abolishing the cruel and unnecessary factory farming of vast numbers of animals. It’s a rare, lighter-hearted look at the man behind the movement.
