Peter Singer

Peter Singer, one of the world’s most renowned philosophers, is founder of our organization (named after his book The Life You Can Save). Singer has written extensively on the ethics of charitable giving, arguing that those who can do so without great harm to themselves should seek to make profound improvements in the lives of people suffering in extreme poverty by donating to effective nonprofits. Peter is a professor of bioethics at Princeton University in the U.S. and the University of Melbourne in Australia. He writes and lectures extensively about a wide range of topics and is considered to be a founder of the animal rights movement.
